Collaborators

Invite someone else to help manage your store without sharing your login.

If you need help running your store, you can invite another person as a collaborator instead of sharing your password. They sign in with their own E2C Store account and get their own edit access to your store — nothing about your login is shared.

Collaborators use their own E2C Store account (their own email, password, and 2FA). If they don't have one yet, they'll be prompted to create one when they open the invite.

What a collaborator can do

A collaborator can do everything you can on the store except:

  • Manage payment/payout settings (view-only)
  • Change 2FA settings (their own account's 2FA is theirs to manage — it just can't touch yours)
  • Invite, remove, or manage other collaborators

Everything else — products, orders, messages, marketing, customization — is fully open to them.

Only the store's owner can invite or remove collaborators, and only the owner can manage payments. A collaborator can't promote themselves or anyone else.

Inviting a collaborator

Send the invite

Enter the person's email address and click Send Invite. They'll receive an email with a link to accept.

A store can have at most 10 collaborators at once (active + pending invites combined). You can't invite yourself, and you can't invite someone who's already an active collaborator on the store.

Wait for them to accept

The invite shows as Invited until they respond, and turns to Active once accepted. Invites expire after 7 days — send a new one if it lapses.

Accepting an invite

The invite email links to an invite page where the recipient can accept or decline:

  • Not signed in? They can log in or sign up first, then come back to the same link to accept.
  • Signed in with the invited email? They can accept or decline right there.
  • Signed in with a different email? The invite won't apply to that account — they need to log out and sign in with the email the invite was sent to.

An invite only works for the exact email it was sent to. This is intentional — it stops an invite link from being forwarded or leaked to someone who shouldn't get access to your store.

Once accepted, the store appears in the collaborator's store list and they can switch into it like any store they have access to.

Removing a collaborator

Remove them

Find the collaborator in Current collaborators and click Remove.

Their access is revoked immediately — the next time they load a page on your store, they're bounced out of it.

Troubleshooting

"You can't invite yourself"

You're trying to invite the email address that owns the store. Owners already have full access and can't also be a collaborator on their own store.

"This email is already a collaborator on your store"

That person already has an active invite or active access. Check the collaborators list — you don't need to (and can't) re-invite them.

The person accepting is logged into an E2C Store account whose email doesn't match who the invite was sent to. They need to log out and sign back in with the invited email address.

The invite has expired (7 days), was already accepted/declined, or the link was mistyped/incomplete. Ask the store owner to send a fresh invite.

Collaborators are a good fit for a business partner, employee, or virtual assistant who needs real day-to-day access — without ever needing your password.
