Store Policies

Write your Shipping & Returns and Terms & Conditions pages, or start from E2C's default templates.

Every store has two policy pages that buyers can read:

PolicyWhere buyers find it
Shipping & Returnsyour-store-link/shipping-and-returns, linked from your store footer and from checkout
Terms & Conditionsyour-store-link/terms, linked from your store footer and from checkout

On the final checkout step, buyers see: "By placing your order, you agree to our Terms & Conditions and Shipping & Returns policies," with links to both pages.

Default policies

New stores start with a default policy for each page. Each default is a general legal template written by E2C, not advice for your particular business. Review both before you start selling.

The default Shipping & Returns template makes specific promises to buyers, including:

  • Orders are processed within 1–2 business days.
  • Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery.
  • Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
  • Damaged or incorrect items reported within 7 days are repaired, replaced, or refunded.

If those don't match how you actually work, edit them.

If you never edit a default policy (or save it unchanged), your store always shows E2C's current version of that template. Once you save your own text, your store shows your version.

Editing a policy

Open Policies

Navigate to Settings → Policies and choose the Shipping & Returns or Terms & Conditions tab.

Edit the text

The editor supports headings, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, quotes, code blocks, numbered and bulleted lists, indents, and alignment. To start over, click Insert Default Policy. This replaces everything in the editor with the default template, but nothing changes on your store until you save.

Save

Click Save Changes. To check the live page, use the Take a look at your Shipping & Returns page or Take a look at your Terms & Conditions page link at the top of each tab.

Rules

  • A policy can't be empty. You'll see "Shipping & Returns content is required." or "Terms & Conditions content is required."
  • Very long policies are rejected with "Content is too large."
  • Policies are checked against E2C's prohibited goods policy. If yours is flagged, a message links to the terms so you can revise your text.
