Sell files that deliver automatically after purchase — eBooks, music, templates, software, and more.

Digital products are files your customers download after purchase. When a buyer completes checkout, E2C automatically emails them a secure download link — no manual steps required on your end.

You can mix physical and digital products freely in the same store. Digital products skip the shipping step at checkout automatically.

Setting Up a Digital Product

Select Product Type

When adding or editing a product, the first section is Product Type.

Select Digital Product (Instant download) instead of Physical Product.

The form will update to show the Digital File section and hide the Variants and Shipping sections, which don't apply to digital products.

Upload Your File

In the Digital File section, drag your file into the upload area or click to browse.

Supported file types: PDF, ZIP, MP3, WAV, OGG, MP4, MPEG, PNG, JPG, SVG, TXT, EPUB, MOBI, DOCX, XLSX

Maximum file size: 25 MB

Once uploaded, the file name and size are shown. Click the trash icon to remove and replace it.

You can replace a file at any time by removing the existing one and uploading a new version. Buyers who already purchased will retain access to their original download link.

Configure Digital File Settings

After uploading, fill in the settings for this file:

Maximum 200 characters

License Type

Defines how the buyer may use the file.

Option	Description
Personal Use Only	For personal, non-commercial use
Commercial Use	Buyer may use in commercial projects
Extended Commercial License	Broader commercial rights
Custom License	Enter your own license terms

Selecting Custom License reveals a text area where you can write your own terms (max 500 characters).

Version / Edition (optional)

Tag your product with a version or edition label shown to buyers.

Examples: v2.1, 2024 Edition
Maximum 20 characters

Max Downloads per Link

How many times the buyer can download the file using their link.

Default applies if left blank
Range: 1–100

Download Link Expiry

How long the download link stays active after purchase.

Options: 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days

Complete the Rest of the Product

Fill in the remaining sections as normal — Basic Info, Images, Description, Pricing & Inventory, and Additional Details.

Setting the price to $0 is supported. The download link is sent immediately after the buyer completes the (free) checkout.

Save Your Product

Click Add Product (or Save when editing). The product is now live on your store.

When a buyer purchases, E2C sends them an email with their unique secure download link automatically.

How Delivery Works

Buyer completes checkout and payment is confirmed
E2C generates a unique, time-limited download link
The link is emailed to the buyer automatically
The buyer clicks the link to download their file

The link is specific to that buyer and cannot be guessed. It expires after the configured number of days and has a download limit, so it cannot be shared indefinitely.

Confirm the order shows as paid in your Orders dashboard
Check that the buyer's email address is correct on the order
You can manually resend the download link from the order detail page
