Emails from E2C
Every automated email E2C Store can send you as a seller, when it's sent, and how to stop the optional ones.
E2C sends you two kinds of email: account and store emails you need (verification, password resets, new orders), and optional emails that help you get started or tell you what's new. Optional emails always include an Unsubscribe link.
Add E2C Store to your contacts and check your spam folder for any email below you're expecting but can't find.
Account emails
These are sent only when you, or someone acting on your account, does something. You can't unsubscribe from them.
| Subject | When | |
|---|---|---|
| Email verification | "Email Verification from E2C Store" | When you sign up with email and password, and whenever you click Resend Email in Account & Profile. Only the newest link works. |
| Password reset | "Password Reset from E2C Store" | When you request one from Forgot Password?. The link is valid for 30 minutes. See Security. |
| Collaborator invite | "Name invited you to help manage Store on E2C Store" | Sent to the person you invite. Valid for 7 days. See Collaborators. |
Store activity emails
| Subject | When | |
|---|---|---|
| New order | "New Order" | When a buyer places an order (for card payments, once the payment succeeds). Sent to the store owner. |
| Contact form message | "Contact Form Submission on your E2C Store" | When a buyer uses your store's contact form. See Messaging. |
Order and contact form emails can't be turned off. For what your buyers receive, see Settings → Email previews.
Getting-started emails
New stores receive a short series of emails to help them launch. They come from E2C Store or Parth from E2C Store (our founder), go to the email you signed up with, and each store you own gets its own series.
| Subject | When it's sent |
|---|---|
| "Your store is almost ready! Finish setup now" | Once, from about 30 minutes after signup, if you haven't finished Complete Store Setup yet (only within your first 3 days). |
| "Welcome to E2C Store! - Let's get started" | Once, in your first 7 days, after you've named your store. |
| "Ready to make your first sale? Add a product in 2 minutes!" | Once, at least a day after the welcome email, if you have no active products yet. |
| "Quick question about your E2C Store experience" | Once, from your 3rd day, from Parth, asking how things are going. Just reply to answer. |
| Next-step emails from Parth | Around day 3, 7, and 14, about the next thing you haven't done yet: "Your store is ready for its first product", "One step before you can take orders" (payments), "Put your store where your customers already are" (sharing), or "What usually gets the first order". Each topic is sent at most once. |
How the series is paced:
- At most one email at a time, and usually at least 48 hours between them.
- The reminders stop once you receive your first order. They're also skipped for steps you've already done.
- Replies go to a real person. Several of these emails invite you to reply with questions, or to tell us what you sell.
The "Quick question" email counts as Marketing & Promotions. All the others count as Tips & Tutorials.
Product update emails
Occasionally we email sellers about major new features (for example "Services, digital products, Interac — all live now"). Each campaign is sent once per store, to stores that existed when the campaign started, and is spread over several days. These count as Product Updates.
Smaller updates are posted in the Updates from our CTO panel in your dashboard instead of being emailed. See Dashboard.
Unsubscribing
Click Unsubscribe at the bottom of any getting-started or product update email. You'll see "You've been unsubscribed", and that category (for example Tips & Tutorials) is turned off for that store. Other categories, and your other stores, aren't affected.
To stop these automated emails, use the Unsubscribe link in the email itself. The toggles in Settings → Notifications are saved to your login, but they don't currently control the getting-started or product update emails.
If you see "Invalid unsubscribe link", the link was cut off or changed. Copy the whole link from the email, or contact support.
