SEO & Sharing

How your store appears in Google, link previews, browser tabs, and the E2C marketplace, and what you can do to improve it.

E2C sets up the technical side of search engines and link sharing for you. There's no SEO settings page; instead, a few things you already fill in (your store name, bio, logo, and product details) decide how your store looks in search results and previews.

What you control

What you fill inWhereUsed for
Store nameSettings → Store detailsPage titles in browser tabs and search results, e.g. "Home | Your Store"
Bio (up to 200 characters)Settings → Store detailsThe description under your store in search results and link previews for most pages
Store logoDesign Studio → SiteLink preview image and browser-tab icon
Product nameProduct formProduct page title and description
Short descriptionService and event formsThe text in link previews of a service or event (first 160 characters)
Product imagesProduct formThe link preview image for a product
Brand, keywords, and categoryProduct formSearch within your store, the E2C marketplace, and product details read by search engines

Your bio is the single most important piece of text for search. Write one or two clear sentences that say what you sell and where, for example "Handmade soy candles from Toronto, shipped across Canada."

Page titles and descriptions

Each storefront page gets a title automatically:

PageBrowser tab / search titleDescription
HomeHome | Store nameYour bio
ShopShop All | Store nameYour bio
CategoryShop | Store nameCategory name and your bio
ProductShop | Product nameProduct name – Store name
Service / EventName | Store nameName – Store name

When someone shares your store or a product on Facebook, WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn, iMessage, and similar apps, a preview card is shown:

  • Store pages: your store name, your bio, and your logo. If you haven't uploaded a logo, the E2C logo is used.
  • Product pages: the product name and its main image.
  • Service and event pages: the name, the first 160 characters of the short description, and the main image.

Apps often keep a copy of a preview for a while, so changes to your logo or bio may take time to show up in links that were already shared.

Browser tab icon (favicon)

When you upload a store logo, E2C automatically creates a small square tab icon from it. Use a square logo so the icon doesn't look squashed. SVG logos can't be converted, so stores with an SVG logo (or no logo) show the E2C icon.

Search engines

  • Structured data. Your home page tells search engines it's a store, with your name, bio, and logo. Product pages include the price, currency, stock status, brand, and star rating, which can help Google show richer results.
  • Pages kept out of search. Cart, checkout, order tracking, search results, and review links are marked so search engines don't list them.
  • Sitemap. E2C publishes a sitemap that lists approved stores and their active products. It's rebuilt automatically once a day, so new products are included within about a day. You don't need to submit anything to Google yourself.

Search engines decide when and whether to list pages. A new store can take days or weeks to appear in Google, and E2C can't guarantee rankings.

The E2C marketplace

The E2C marketplace lets shoppers browse products, services, events, and stores from across E2C at e2c.store/browse-products, browse-services, browse-events, and browse-stores.

  • Stores appear in the marketplace and the sitemap after they're reviewed and approved by the E2C team. There's no setting to request this.
  • Store listings show your logo, bio, and number of products, and can be filtered by your selling category (set in Settings → Store details).
  • Shoppers can search products by name, keywords, and category, so adding keywords to products helps.
  • Visits from the marketplace show as E2C Marketplace under Referrers in Analytics.

Checklist

  1. Write a clear bio.
  2. Upload a square logo.
  3. Give every product at least one image, a short description, and a few keywords.
  4. Set your selling category.
  5. Check Recommendations for anything missing.
