Saving & Publishing
Preview, save, and publish your hero, and switch between the Hero Builder and the legacy carousel.
Previewing
Click Preview in the top bar. A preview window opens over the editor showing your hero without the editing tools. Use the desktop, tablet, and phone buttons in the preview to check each size, then close it to keep editing.
Saving
Click Save (or press Ctrl+S). You'll see Saving..., then Design saved successfully.
Saving publishes your hero to your live store immediately. There is no draft mode, so use Preview first.
- The first save makes the Hero Builder your homepage hero, replacing the legacy carousel.
- A hero with no content can't be saved.
- For safety, scripts and other unsafe code are removed from the design when it's saved.
- If you try to leave with unsaved changes, you're asked to confirm first.
Switching back to the legacy carousel
In Design Studio → Home, click Use Legacy Carousel and confirm. Your homepage shows the carousel again, and your hero design is kept. To use your hero again, open the Hero Builder and click Save.
